West Side Baptist Church Senior Pastor

West Side Baptist Church, located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, is seeking a Senior Pastor to lead us in fulfilling our mission of taking the unchanging message of Christ to a changing world. Our church of 327 active members currently meets at a local high school on Sunday morning in order to accommodate a growing children’s program and to facilitate future growth. All other activities are at the church site. As a church in transition, we seek a shepherd who will minister to all age groups through worship, biblical preaching and pastoral care. We currently have one blended worship service.
West Side Baptist is characterized by solid lay leadership, a quality music program, a strong Awana and children’s program, and members seeking to carry out God’s vision. The church is also involved in a wide-range of mission activities, including both foreign and domestic mission trips. Currently, our church is served by well-qualified interim staff in the areas of children’s ministry, youth ministry and music. However, our new pastor would have the opportunity to help build his own ministerial team. We are in the process of looking for an interim pastor. West Side Baptist is affiliated with the SBC, the BGAV and the August Baptist Association.
Located in the central Shenandoah Valley, Harrisonburg and the surrounding area has a population of over 100,000. It is also home to several universities including James Madison University, Eastern Mennonite University & Seminary, and Bridgewater College.
