Position Description
Pastor
Definition: The pastor is responsible for providing spiritual, instructional and administrative leadership to the members, staff and ministries of the church.
Responsibilities:
• Leadership
o Oversight of the church body and the shepherding of its members (Acts 20:28)
o Serves as moderator for business meetings
o Serves as a leader in reaching unchurched individuals and families
o Provides support and direction to ministry team leaders
o Set goals for the congregation
o Serves as chairman for the leadership committee in coordination outreach events
o Mentoring of new believers and future leaders
o Collaborates with and delegates to the Elder body

• Self development and discipline
o Maintain a regular program of study for self growth
o Set as a guideline of personal behavior the standard required in I Timothy 3:1-7
o Acts within the guidelines of the bylaws as established
o Supports the mission and vision of the church as outlined

• Sunday Morning Ministry
o Prepare for and conduct meaningful worship services
o Coordinate with team leaders for worshipful and well-run services

• Support services
• Conduct pre-marital, family, bereavement, counseling sessions, etc. as needed
• Perform funeral services, baptism and wedding ceremonies
