Missions

God has placed us in the midst of the Northeast Corridor, a region of the United States stretching from Washington, DC, to the southern edge of Canada. Twenty-five percent of the total US population lives within this region…and the vast majority have no relationship with Christ.
God has placed us right next door to Washington, DC, our nation’s capital. How many national leaders, policy makers, international diplomats and world business leaders live, work and recreate in Maryland and Delaware? How would the world be different if these leaders had a personal relationship with Christ?
God has brought the world to our very doorstep. How many languages are spoken in the homes of your child’s classmates? How many languages are spoken in the student lounge of your local university? Maryland and Delaware Baptists have an opportunity to reach people from all over the world with the gospel—and the opportunity may be as close as our next-door neighbor.
God has placed us in a time and place where we are free to worship, free to speak, free to travel. Only a generation ago, travel was so difficult that church members could only pray for missionaries overseas. Today, Maryland and Delaware Baptist volunteers routinely travel around the world to work side by side with our Southern Baptist missionaries.
This web page is designed to help get you started on your missions journey. Like any good travel guide, we’re here to help you discover your place in missions and then help you get there.
It’s a big world—open your door and step out!
